The “skank ” is the fundamental undertone and beat of all Rastafari music. It is part of the soul and recognizability of Rastafari music.
The skank , usually played on guitar is hard to describe in words without a guitar in front of me. However, I have found multiple instructional and educational videos on how to correctly play and “feel” the skank. Rastafari music is all about the feel and the soul put into it and these musicians stress that fact in these videos.
