Sorry I didn’t post this last night- I let it upload while I was sleeping.
Wow, I never had this perspective about subway musicians before. I always had this notion that they were doing this out of necessity, but from this documentary it seems like these people do it out of passion. It’s actually fulfilling for them to play music in that kind of environment. This actually brightened my day, because I always felt so bad for those musicians, always thought they were a sect of the “starving artists” communal.
Same here Megan. I can’t believe they actually enjoy it because they look so sad most of the time. And I know they notice that most people around them find the music irritating, especially when they’re listening to their Ipods or whatever. It was really nice to see that they find happiness in it regardless of what others think or do.
