We sought to investigate if there was a positive correlation between fitness center membership and a healthy lifestyle, hypothesizing that this correlation did exist. A Google Forms survey was distributed and filled out by 170 participants who indicated their affiliation or lack of with a fitness center. Additional questions recorded the average type of food consumed, sleeping habits, awareness of daily calorie intake, and water consumption. Results then compared the daily habits of fitness center members with non-members. Gym members were not only more likely than non-members to buy and cook unprepared food, but also exhibited more hours of sleep in the healthy range of six hours, a higher awareness of calorie intake throughout the day, and healthier amounts of water consumption close to 64 ounces per day. In conclusion, members of fitness centers were proven to be more likely to pursue healthy habits in their daily life.
