My Neighborhood

I'll have to admit that the Snapshot 2009 assignment was probably the most unique assignment that I have had to do throughout my years in school. Going out and taking pictures of "my neighborhood" on a specific day wasn't really the most normal thing to do. However, it wasn't as bad as it sounded. First I went to the local park 2 blocks away from my house. I took a photo at the corner across the street from the park because Booth Memorial (one of the busiest intersections near my house), was right along the park. I've been living in the same house for about 13 years now, so the park has had a huge affect on the way I have been living my life. As I was growing up, I would go to the park everyday to ride my bike, play in the jungle gym, go on the swings and play ball. As I grew older, I turned into a huge sports fan. I would go to the park every to play basketball, handball and whatever else the park had to offer. As a result of this, I couldn't help but take a picture of the park for perfect assignment. After taking a picture of the park, I drove to my friends house which is a couple of blocks away from the park. As a kid, I would always go to my old friend's house to hang out and chill. We developed many memories as our lives went on. However, just recently, he moved into a new house (across the street) which is the one photo. I was one of his first friends who was able to enter his newly built house first. After taking these photos, it made me realize that living is not about money; it's about happiness. People always talk about how they would like to move to a rich neighborhood, but for me, I like exactly where I am right now.
