I’ve been looking into Cornell a lot lately and really like his stuff. (He lived in Flushing by the way guys)
but his boxes reminded me of Arthur Ganson, a “kinetic sculptor”, who creates some amazing things with seemingly ordinary objects. A lot of the things such as mechanical pieces like cogs and coils are shared by both, check these videos if you’re interested, there are loads on youtube

Someone I mentioned in class is Henry Darger, the recluse janitor in Chicago whose main work was discovered after he died. But his character and take on art reminded me of Cornell, and the way we see how others view the world as strange is strange itself (not trying to be pretentious or anything)

If anyone else knows off any artists in this sort of style I’d be interested
thanksss,
