I'm the current president of the bar association. I've been in this volunteer position since January 2008. My term ends in December. I went to law school at American University in DC. After law school I worked as a tenants' rights attorney at a small non-profit in Manhattan. I now work as the Pro Bono Coordinator for a large law firm.

SABANY is an organization of South Asian lawyers (of Indian, Pakistani, Sri Lankan, Nepali, and Bangladeshi descent). The organization seeks to act as a resource to South Asian lawyers in their career development and provide networking opportunities, and also to serve as advocates for social justice causes affecting the broader South Asian community. We hold networking events, career panels, and substantive panels on current issues in our community. Each year we also host our Annual Leadership Awards Gala, and our Public Interest Fellowship Benefit, which allows us to provide stipends to law students working in public interest legal internships.
