365 DAYS/365 PLAYS
By Suzan-Lori Parks
Nov 13, 2006 – Nov 12, 2007

WHAT IS 365 DAYS/365 PLAYS?
In November 2002, Pulitzer prize-winner Suzan-Lori Parks had the idea to write a play a day for the next 365 days. These plays are called 365 Days/365 Plays. The 365 National Festival launched this play cycle in November 2006 as a yearlong grassroots world premiere in communities around the US and beyond. The Public Theater joins with 365 Festival Producers Bonnie Metzgar and Suzan-Lori Parks to celebrate over 60 theater companies and universities who are participating in the NYC component of the Festival.

HOW DOES 365NYC WORK?
1. Each week, selected theater companies will produce one week’s worth of plays, each ranging from one to five pages in length.

2. The plays may be performed in one night or over the course of the entire week. That, in addition to where and how they are produced, is up to each participating company.

3. Locations for performances include community gardens, parks, cafés, bars, performing arts venues and theaters across the five boroughs.

4. Reservations for any 365NYC presentation are determined by each participating company. Visit individual companies’ websites for details.

For more info, visit publictheater.org/365 or call the 365NYC HOTLINE at 212-539-8760. For info on the national festival, visit 365days365plays.com.
