In today’s episode, we explore the African fare in the famous Africa Kine. Serving West African food, it seems to be a staple for African immigrants, giving them a taste of home.

This restaurant has been pointed out several times to me for its food and significance to the area. I thought that it might be a fun trip to make.

Walking inside, I feel that the whole restaurant has a claustrophobic feel to it. It was very dark, and I didn’t have any idea what to expect.

Hmmm…I think I'll go with the lamb mafe. This is a peanut butter stew with lamb, carrot and other vegetables with white rice.

Ummm… What am I eating?

In the end, I did not enjoy my experience at Africa Kine. Perhaps it was simply the fact that I did not like the ethnic food. I have never been a fan of sweet and savory, and peanut and lamb together revolted me a bit. There was also a language barrier with the staff that makes things a little uncomfortable, plus the service isn’t the fastest in the world. I’m going to have to mark this quite low, and I don’t care if you hate me for it.
