Simeon Soumaien

From The Peopling of New York City

Simeon Soumaien was a Frenchman with 50 pounds wealth. He belonged to the Country Party and worked as a silversmith in the Dock Ward. His slave Tom was transported.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to find further information of Simeon Soumaien. He seems to have fallen off the face of the earth; whatever search I try, his name returns nothing. Perhaps the spelling is off...I doubt it, though. Honestly, I think Soumaien just lived a simple life, never making political or social waves, so to speak. Hopefully I will find even a tidbit of information about this man's life...
