Today was July 5th in Korea, while it was July 4th in NYC. I skyped home, to see them having a BBQ! Haha, for that, I will take revenge by going to have Korean BBQ soon! We went out to get our Yonsei T-shirts that were free and that were being given out by the program. My friend and I got Ice Green Tea Lattes, which were delicious and only 2,100 won! I then had mandu for breakfast at the Yonsei food court. It was only like 1,300 won for 6 of them! What was different about their food court was that you gave the station the ticket to make it. And you can get your own sides (ex. pickled radish). What I also figured out today was that they give out hot sauce like ketchup! Even though it was spicy, I just had the taste for spicy. I just want spice for everything! We got our T-shirts, but I thought mine was smelly haha. I don’t know what’s going on with me! I am being Koreanified! At home, I am afraid of what I wear and how I look, but it feels so easy here. Just wear something cutesy, put up the peace sign automatically, take selcas, eat spicy! After getting our shirt, and dropping it back at the dorm, we went to find some vegetarian food for my friend. We went to a shop like in the basement area of our dorm and she got bibimbap with tofu. It was actually good, and it came with some spicy kimchi, and some soup. KIMCHI! I love it, so spicy and its like everywhere! My mouth is watering from wanting Kimchi stew right now :9. Our other friends had dance class, so when they were finished, we also moved on.
We went to Edae because one of them wanted our style of schoolbag and also to grab a bite. We sat on a floor style area where we had to take off our shoes. Since some of us had already eaten, we ordered something anyways to be respectful, otherwise three of us wouldn’t be eating. So we got a very yummy kimchi pancake (non spicy, veggies only) and went out. We brought them to yesterdays patbingsu place, and it was soo good again! This time, we got watermelon only, and it was like the best. Haha, is your mouth watering yet?! Since people had places to go at around 7, and most of our day was already gone, we decided to go to Banpo Bridge to see their Rainbow light show. The ride was ~40 minutes to the Express Bus Terminal stop, and a 10 minute walk to the bridge show area. We got their a little early before the evening began ~6pm, so we just waited it out and took some pictures. Two of us left, and the rest of us ordered a vegetarian pizza to share. The sizes here are minimized, but it was still okay. The sight was pretty and relaxing~. We were dying of starvation by the time the delivery came! People are around their ready to take orders because it s a popular area to eat and drink at night while the show plays, or just to see the Banpo bridge at night. When we looked in the Han River, you would see real fish jumping sometimes. Anyways, not much happened, but it was nice and beautiful today. Thank God for no rain~! I craved Coca Cola and Arizona Green Tea and I just had to buy it haha. The cola never tasted so goood~! Tired now so night :)!
Advice:
-Plan beforehand!
-Don’t bring anything to study other than what you need here. I brought my mcat stuff…. How can I study when I have so much to see?! Aigoo 🙁
-Bring a cloth to sit on when you come. There is so many places to just picnic or just relax and sit! Also buy some snacks and drinks!
-Bring a larger wallet, because of the cards and the cash. I didn’t think it would be so difficult. 😛
-Stay out of shopping areas. When you are there, its like an unreachable itch~ There is just way too much cheap stuff. Or keep less money in your wallet!
