This course design was part of a larger project I was involved in at Queens College, an attempt to create sustainable, simulating, but rigorous course structures with a wide enough variety that new teachers would find both a framework and a subject that would interest them as teachers. While I was responsible for the creation of several versions, I benefitted from the peer team that worked with me to provide feedback and ideas throughout the process, a team structure that I have since found ideal for pedagogical creation.

This version, The Visual World, brought images and comics into the classroom, and invited students to practice creating comics of their own using comic creation software. This allowed them freedom from drawing (which can be intimidating) while giving them access to the decision making process of the artist/writer. The course objectives can be found on the syllabus.
