  • Between 2008 and today the cost to produce solar energy dropped by over 75% and will only continue to get cheaper. Enough power has been produced in the US alone to power over 2.2 million houses.
  • Solar energy is such an attractive resource for our changing needs for a few reasons.
  • Both the panels and methods in making them are clean, which pretty much goes without saying would help reduce emissions of greenhouse gasses.

  • A typical solar panel would last around 25 years giving them a long lifespan.
  • Nearly every country on the planet gets a healthy dose of the energy source (being the sun) throughout the year meaning the panels can be placed anywhere the sun touches (just not that dark shadowy place, you must never go there simba).
  • With the world’s energy demands constantly increasing and the need for clean energy all the more apparent, solar power is destined to play it’s role in our future energy mix.
  • By 2020 The EU (European Union) has set a goal of relying on renewable sources for 20% of their energy needs, of the EU’s total energy needs 12% is projected to be supplied by solar energy.
