St Veronica’s Rectory

The church was established in 1887 to serve Catholics in the area, particularly Italians. The building, designed by John J. Deery, wasn’t completed until 1903. In the 1980s, St. Veronica’s took action in the AIDS epidemic. Remodeling provided housing for persons suffering from the disease. Later an AIDS memorial was installed in the first balcony.
