For the public art video project, I chose the two lion sculptures at the Schwartzman Building of the New York Public Library. The lions, along with the main building, are nearing their centennial, with the building and the lions (then named Leo Astor and Leo Lenox, after John Jacob Astor and James Lenox, founders of the two libraries that predated the establishment of the Public Library) erected in 1911.
