Final Group Project

Our final project will be about the Gagosian Gallery (the one located on W.24th St.) in Chelsea. We will be looking at exhibits shown over the past 10 years, focusing on four years — each of our group members will take one year to investigate and will choose 2 or 3 exhibits that they find interesting/exciting/compelling/innovative and will give background on the artist and will discuss the meaning behind the work. We will try to find similarities and overarching themes that the Gagosian, a very famous gallery, finds to be important in modern art over the past 10 years. We will be interviewing interns as well museum goers, asking them what it is is like to not only work at the gallery (the interns) but how they feel about the art itself and what it says to them.

Our title will be: The Gagosian Gallery & Modern Art in the 21st Century.

Our group will be: Colin, Margaretta, Alexis, Christine & Sarah

Please make sure you make a point to link it as a New York City gallery
