Thanks Lee, this is fascinating. I think it is a good strategy to train for a pandemic where people are violent and sickly, but simply USING the term “zombie apocalypse” is questionable. This term further instills fear of the apocalypse in the public as well as makes me question the people that made the decision to name the training. Also, Huffington Post’s choice of portraying humans dressed as zombies while giving this news does not accurately portray what they are training for, but makes the viewer question law enforcement. They are trying to connect the public’s and the law enforcement’s definition of “Zombie” but are failing, making everyone involved look silly.
