While the the Black Lives Matter movement enjoys prevalence on the social media scene these days, it is important not to neglect the issues of gender dynamics within the movement. The focus of media rests on the the mistreatment of black males, but the lives of black women are equally important and at risk, not only from racism, but also from sexism within the movement. Black men must realize that for true equality to be achieved, they must also elevate black women.
