A Day in the Life of a Photography Blogger
Photography Blogger is the kind of art blog that doesn’t focus on one particular form of art. It features a plethora of photographs that range from being ethereal, informative, or just plain silly. This blog isn’t written by just one person, which is great because you are being exposed to art enthusiasts who share different tastes and introduce you to a whole world of imagination. The main heading of the homepage states A Source of Photography Inspiration.
You don’t have to worry about boredom since Photography Blogger is updated daily. It was first established in 2009 and has been going strong ever since. The format of the blog is nice and simple. I’m very picky with web layouts, but this one is not cluttered. Each post has a read more link where the author writes a short comment on what is being showcased. Following this is a whole row of photos with a caption of the title of the piece as well as the author. I love that it’s not formally written and purely for enjoyment. There was one post that automatically caught my eye and practically forced me to click on the link. The title is straight forward – 16 Great Pictures of Grumpy Cats. You can scroll through the pictures one after the other and see various breeds of cats giving their best grumpy face.
The homepage is uncomplicated, with a search bar at the top, a list of links on the left side of the page for navigating the blog, and a row of icons where you can visit Photography Blogger on different forms of social media. The site has a popular following on Twitter and Facebook. The links are very helpful, allowing you to view reviews, showcases, or tips on taking photos. One tip shows you how you can take a picture from an airplane window.
Videos are posted once in a while as well. For example, Nate Kay posted a time lapse video created by photographer and timelapser Mattia Bicchi that showed how various locations in London changed throughout a span of time. It’s a thrilling experience to be able to see within the few minutes of video how the sky changes colors from day to night, how the boats speed back and forth across the water, and how people come and go.
Whether you are in the mood for random things to wake some emotion out of you or you are working a hard day and just need a quick moment of solace, Photography Blogger can be checked at home or on the go. You can look at photos of nature, surreal photography, or even steaming bowls of soup. The best thing about this blog is that it is unpredictable, and it will never cease to surprise you. One day you can look at 16 Great Pictures of Bananas, another day you can view Underwater Photography by Ilse Moore, and finally you can end your week by examining The (New) Seven Wonders of the World Every Photographer Should Visit.
In conclusion, this blog will not only take you on a journey through various types of photography, but it will make you a viewer for life. This site is wonderful for photography enthusiasts and has quick tips, entertainment, and opportunities to win great camera gear. It also entertains those who just want to unwind a little.
Hi Julia! I am truly enjoying looking through the blog you chose because I completely agree with you that the blog’s layout is very neat and simple and also features expertly taken photographs. I like that this blog uses lists of photos, similar to what BuzzFeed uses. There are so many different angles in which the photographers choose to take photos of an object from that I am quite amazed. I absolutely love that the blog offers tips for budding photographers and also that the tips are written very clearly and not in fancy terms. I also love that there are many contributors to this blog and readers can be pleasantly surprised to see content from various subject areas.
