Hi everyone!

My name is Megan Chiu and I plan to major in accounting and possibly minor in CIS (in addition to NYC Studies, of course). I’ve lived in Queens all of my life in a diverse and cultural epicenter. A lot of people are surprised to hear that I understand and follow baseball (go Yankees!). One thing I hope to do before the end of my college career is to study abroad, possibly in France or Italy.

I already know some of you but I’m looking forward to meeting the rest of you as well. 🙂

So I said I wouldn’t do this, but…

Jill suggested that I write an intro, and I figured it was the least I could do after having spent the first day of class scaring the heck out of everyone. So…

I was born and grew up in a small town in Northern California, about twenty miles away from where the Gold Rush started in 1849.  However, I haven’t lived in the West since starting college more than twenty years ago (eek!). After I graduated, I lived and worked in China and Hong Kong for a while and then got my Ph.D. from Northwestern. My first book was published in 2009, and I’m working on a second one right now.

Aside from history, I love dogs, travel (twenty countries and counting), cooking, modern architecture, taking long walks in New York, and, apparently, frightening students.

(In keeping with the Great Depression theme, this is the statue of FDR’s dog Fala at the FDR monument in Washington, D.C.)

Simply an Introduction

Hi Everyone! My name is Stephanie Sica and I’m an aspiring event planner intending to major in Business Communications here at Baruch! I’m a neat freak and crazy organized, but it’s how I keep my life in order. I love my boyfriend of two years and my job at a hot pilates studio in my hometown, where I’m currently commuting from (…for now),Wantagh, Long Island. Among my many passions are writing, fashion, cooking, and New York City–I absolutely love everything about it. So, I’m looking forward to this semester and becoming familiar with any new faces! 🙂

Introducing myself… kinda

Is this a better picture to see my face with? oh and it's the same soldier's jacket in this picture thats why i'm doing the batman pose

Hey it’s David,

I’m not really good at talking about myself, but for some reason every professor this semester is asking me to. If there’s something you wanna know about me just ask and I’ll be glad to answer. In this picture, I’m playing my friend in Israel’s guitar while wearing his soldier beret and I’m not that great at guitar I just started learning. I put this picture cause it’s the most recent, it was taken about two weeks ago during winter vacation.

The Key To My Heart

Hey y’all,

In a nutshell, I’m a witty, sarcastic foodie who intends to major in marketing and is far too fond of accents. Oh, and I’m from Queens. Feel free to say hi or donate food. Rest assured, your contribution will not be forgotten!
