Fall for Dance is the Dance for Fall

Early this month I was exposed to the performance Fall for Dance. Before the performance I got a chance to tour the city and take in all the colorful lights and masterful architecture that make up the city.

It was quite an eye-opener in which I experienced some of the most talented dancers in the world perform before me in a theater resembling something of the Byzantine Empire.

Despite having a bothersome cold, I was able to enjoy the various types of dance genres from tap to hip-hop to even ballet. There was one performance though that had really fascinated me. It was none other than the bird man, which featured a South African man imitating a crane. He managed to reenact the life of a bird from the moment it hatches to its hardships through predators and the climate changing. The bird man performed too well, especially when you begin to wonder if the man could actually fly. Perhaps I just really enjoy animals so that’s why the crane dance was the most intriguing dance for me.

Speaking of animals, after the show I took a subway home but during my journey I stumbled upon a rat in the subway. I just thought that it might seem relevant to the arts of New York so I’ll leave a video here for your enjoyment.
