Saint Reparata Being Prepared for Execution

Decius, Decius, I am forpayned,

as I tryeth to salvage mine own faith

from thy ruinous edict.

Thee sayeth we wilt sacrifice our faith f’r thee

f’r the gl’ry of Rome

f’r the et’rnity of a pax romana.

But thee doth not knoweth what thou art talking about,

thee doth not und’rstand our faith.

I am about to be imm’rtaliz’d

grant you mercy to thy foolish ord’r f’r my execution.

I shall f’rev’r liveth on as a martyr

and s’rve as a beacon of resilience and hope f’r future gen’rations of Christians.

Decius, thee can burneth all of us,

thee can crucify us,

thee can behead us,

but thee can nev’r silence us.
