During their first full day in Coosta Rica, students in Climate Change Mitigation Cohort 2 (CCM2) got to know their campus and each other!
In their afternoon class session, CCM2 was introduced to the harsh realities of climate change through an activity they say they will never forget:
Eveyone was tasked to spend half an hour drawing a picture of their favorite place or animal on a piece of tile… only to have it broken by a rock (representing climate change). They learned that no matter how much we try to glue the pieces of the tile back together, it will never be the same. Just like, no matter what we do to try and reverse climate change, it will never be the same. That is why we need to act fast, consume less, and protect the resources we still have, so we can protect all the places and animals we love.
During rainy season in Moneverde, the sun often sets behind the clouds. But, today the sunset made a grand appearance, bringing a wonderful and colorful end to the day!
