Animal Grooming Art

So people put on make up, style their hair, wear clothes, and have their definitions of art/ fashion. What happens when pets do it? I admit that it can be thought of as a form of art, but it is only appealing to those who are into animal grooming…I found this particularly unnecessary and unappealing. What do you guys think?

  1. Well…as you said, people put on make up and style their hair. Everyone has a different opinion on beauty and aesthetics. If people do it, why not pets? I mean, I do not think that these dogs in the pictures that you posted are dressed up like that everyday of the week. Perhaps they dress up occasionally, as people do on Halloween.

    • Well, the pets are not doing it to themselves. Their owners are forcing these visual alterations on these animals to glorify their own egos, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

  2. Animal grooming seems to be more of an art for humans to admire rather than an art for pets to admire. I normally let my dogs choose for themselves. For instance, my Chihuahua Daisy will wear coats only if it is cold; my aunt’s chihuahua Bruno is always clothed and he refuses to take off his clothes; my pits refuse to be clothed and they will rip any article of clothing you put on them. As for dying their fur and adding weird accessories, I would never dare to do such a thing because It looks uncomfortable for any pet.
