The “CurbedNY” website is a blog post oriented guide to neighborhoods in NYC. Over
the summer of 2012 they did a number of articles on the Gowanus Canal. They name
interesting sites – like an abandoned MTA building that has become a bat habitat, talk about
the pollution, and offer videos. I think it is a good reference because the people at Curbed
are trying very hard to be hip and current – things to keep in mind for a podwalk that is
appealing as well as informative.
Be specific about how you’ll use this. Will you feature a stop at the bat habitat? Also, use subject tags to help yourself and your group members later.
