The Macaulay Theater Club was founded in 2014 by Jessica Castro (’18, CCNY) and Anthony Massa (’17, CSI), and is now directed by Katryna Alexis (’27, Brooklyn) and assistant directed by Kristen Song (’27, Hunter). Our intent is to grant Macaulay Honors College students with an interest in performing an opportunity to experience the process of preparing a theatrical production each semester. The club’s purpose is also partially derived from the Macaulay “Arts in New York City” seminar, which allows students to witness live performances from professional companies throughout the city. Performers in the club range from music and theater majors to language, engineering, and undecided students: everyone has a chance to perform! The Macaulay Theater Club’s past productions include A Match Made in Heaven (Spring 2015), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Fall 2015), Macaulay Arts Night Musical Theatre Medley (Spring 2016), First Date (Fall 2016), Geek! (Spring 2017), James and the Giant Peach (Fall 2017), Fairy Tale Courtroom (Spring 2018), Godspell (Fall 2018), Robin Hood (Spring 2019), Pippin (Fall 2019), The Importance of Being Earnest (Spring 2020), Opposites Attract: A Virtual Cabaret (Fall 2020), Macaulay Night Live (Fall 2021), 35MM: A Musical Exhibition (Spring 2022), Cinderella (Spring 2023), Guys and Dolls (Fall 2023), and The Importance of Being Earnest (Spring 2024). We hope to see you at our next performance… we LOVE an audience!
