Future of New York City: A Vision of 2016

Found this article this morning when looking for the link of our blog and found it very relevant to our current and past class discussions:

http://nymag.com/realestate/features/2016/17143/

The article states, “In 2016, we won’t be able to be so parochial anymore—one Times Square isn’t going to be enough to fulfill the entertainment needs of that bigger, younger, more diverse population, and you’ll be talking about the lights on 125th Street.”

^ I think this is attributed to our generation’s need for more.  Studies show that our generation are likely to change our jobs five times over 2-3 years because we need to feel challenged and will constantly move around until our needs are met.  The same pertains to the above statement’s example of entertainment: Times Square will eventually lose its appeal.  With the rapid advancement of technology, change is constantly happening.

I am also posting a link for a youtube video on the progression of technology, it’s really neat (!) and also relevant to our class discussions.
