My Journey to Neck Road Train Station
My journey to Neck Road train station is always a pleasant one. It must be the trees and flowers that decorate the path. Or perhaps it is the calm nature of the people who are still half asleep, yet walking right next to me towards the train. I must admit that half of the time I am also half asleep myself. Nevertheless, this path is absolutely beautiful! I would split Sheepshead Bay into two different parts, one is the more exciting and active part, while the other is the more serene and natural part. Citifield- What do the residents think?
Throughout this semester, we have dicussed how architecture and the construction of big developments affect the “look” of New York City. But, beyond the skyline, we must remember that there are peopl at a ground level that are affected by these structures. In particular, Citifield has been an almost billion dollar investment by Citigroup that has really changed how the area of Corona and College Point looks aesthetically. Do the residents feel it is an eyesore? Do they like Citifield? How has it impacted them personally or professionally? How does contruction affect a local area?
These are important questions to ask before the city or any private company should consider before construction is underway.
In my documentary, I explore a neighborhood right next to Citifield and the residents shared with me, their experiences and stories. Let’s take a look at what they have to say…
