The City of the Future
From today’s Times, a new story about proposals to turn Roosevelt Island into the hub of a new science and technology campus. The photo for the article is a bit futuristic. The postmodern architectural style is common today, but I wonder if it looks out of place here?

I heard about this too in the newspaper once, but I wasn’t sure which university was going to expand into Roosevelt Island (or if it’s just a new university being built there).
Seeing the photo made me laugh a bit, because I agree, it DOES look out of place here, and probably it’s because of the computer graphics to manipulate the photo to insert a futuristic look on the island.hat architecture-style compared to the city. The style reminded me of Freedom Tower’s style, where it looks entirely glassy, but it also reminded me of the building architecture around the High Line, where the structures were abstract. Possibly the rest of New York City will become like this? Funny, but seems like we are heading that way.
