Few people actually enjoy taking the train, but many enjoy taking the Roosevelt Island Tramway. Personally, I am blown away by the view it presents every time I take it. Even though the fare is an MTA metro-card, the Roosevelt Island Tramway is not actually owned by the MTA, but by LPOA or Leitner-Poma of America (one of the possible reasons for lack of complaints). According to its website, Roosevelt Island Tramway provides the most modern aerial tramway in the world, running every 7-15 minutes. I just think It would be a great idea to install more aerial tramways in NYC. It would somewhat reduce traffic, and people might actually enjoy their rides.

I have never taken the Roosevelt tramway, and in earnest I forget it exists sometimes, but your post made me want to. I’m wondering what we can do get more people on board with the idea of taking trams all over the city. Personally I wouldn’t mind it and I think if I had one near my house, my commute would be a lot faster.
Hey Olha,
The tram is very exciting with much better and clearer views than the dark, scary ones we get underground on the trains. The view overlooking Roosevelt Island and Manhattan is amazing, especially in the summer time. There are also seats at the sides so the majority of people can stand in the middle and save more space. Maybe places with a lot of people like Times Square can benefit from the tram. As Ingrid said, I also wouldn’t mind having one near my house.
