Does frozen mean dead?

We always have seen movies show a person frozen in ice which somehow preserves the body as well as the organs inside. The same goes with plants but only under certain circumstances does ice and snow preserve and sustain the plants. When there’s a thick layer of ice it causes “frostbite” for the plant but when their snow that slightly covers the plant still leaves an opening for photosynthesis to occur it eventually melts and gives the plant a gradual intake of water.

The idea of the importance of ice in nature, shifts my attention to the melting ice cap in parts of the world which affects us globally and just as this plant in this picture is providing us with oxygen to survive and I have to care for it, so too, on a major scale do we need to care for the melting ice cap and look beyond our own backyard. Many things which happen in our city has to be seen on a macro scale. A person could learn so many lessons of what is happening globally and locally if he pays attention to the small details in the things we don’t usually pay attention to.
