Being that the last week’s class was focused on our group ideas toward what our main project will be, I had the honor of conversing with a fellow Brooklyn resident as I was parking my car and making my way to the doctor. Shortly after the photo below was taken, the man in front of me also parked his new Tesla Model S with the license plate ” ZERO CO” and I found it clever. Come to find out, he’s a biology professor at a college in Long Island and has recently made the switch to electric. He referred to me some amazing information about the switch to electric and it amazed me at his passion toward electric cars. Last semester in IDC, I had the pleasure of presenting my idea of climate change and vehicle emissions to the STEAM festival and it reminded me of the sides that we pulled from this project. How gas vehicles emit almost twice the amount as fossil fuels that are burned to produce electricity and how the design to make these gas vehicles is poorly manufactured because of such a large mass market. Shortly after that conversation I took it upon myself to look further in electric vehicles and found two great articles on the future of electric vehicles and their push on society.
Article 1: https://cleantechnica.com/2019/03/09/how-utility-companies-can-lead-the-electric-car-revolution-still-make-money/
Article 1 speaks upon how electric vehicles can be the new revolutionary product for the environment and investors.
Article 2: https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/volkswagen-share-meb-electric-car-platform/
This article refers to the company that produced my car allowing other companies to use it’s electric car platform, which I learned from the stranger I met.
