Carnegie Hall: How they play

I thought this was a wonderful performance. The musicians are highly skilled and they were able to blend their talents together to construct three beautiful pieces.  My personal favorite was the Beethoven piece because they were able to change from a really soft, delicate mood to really harsh, loud one.

Although they played different parts, they meshed together quite nicely. I was able to distinguish between each instrument, while simultaneously hearing the other instruments playing a complementary part.

I was very impressed by the first violinist. Although the other musicians were very talented, he seemed to stand apart from them. Whether it was the way he ended his note, or the passion that he introduced into the piece, I am not certain. However, he was outstanding. I was pretty surprised when he interacted with the audience, since this was not the standard practice in such a performance. I thought it was beneficial though because it allowed us to recognize that although they are separated by a big divide between the stage and the seats, they are still in fact human.
