I met with my advisor yesterday and we are really trying to focus on a specific Muslim organization for my project. Just to keep you updated, I am researching why people join NRMs (New Religious Movements).
I was wondering, given that you guys read about current events and might have a less biased view of Islamic movements than I do, if you could suggest any “popular” militant Islamic groups, (other than al-Qaeda).
In addition, I was wondering if Roy could post up all of the links/information regarding bibliographies that he shared with us in class.

here are some books that examine different terrorist groups and cults.
1) Terror in the Mind of God: The Global Rise of Religious Violence by Mark Juergensmeyer. you can easily find it on amazon and it’ll probably be in the library.
2) Apocalyptic Trajectories: Millenarianism And Violence In The Contemporary World by John Walliss. they go for a hefty price on amazon, but professor Quinby can e-mail you a copy of the book.
3) Apocalypse by Charles Strozier. Strozier is a professor at Hunter, i believe. and in the Spring scott and sam were able to interview him for the class project.
