I sent this to you all in an email, but I’ll post it here as well:

I’ve been thinking about your presentation and your idea about being able to zoom in on maps of the various types of urban ag. I wanted to send you two Prezi examples because I think this might be the best way to go. The first one is just a Prezi about how to tell a story with Prezi: http://prezi.com/lkwybfrj2fap/copy-of-presentation-on-presentations/

and the second one is more of a how-to (like how-to make something you can zoom in on, etc.) http://prezi.com/e7q1-ixohn28/prezi-workflow-in-15-minutes-copied-and-modified-from-adam-somlai-fischer/.

I thought you should take a look at these and see if this would work. I’m imagining something like a central “Urban Ag” hub with four separate spokes coming off of it for the four types you’ll be describing that can be based on your maps and that you can zoom in on.

If this doesn’t work, we can figure something else out, but it seems like the best option for what you’ve described to me so far.

You should start with why urban agriculture is interesting and important. (And what is the “magic”?) Don’t the four types of farms overlap significantly with the grassroots vs. for-profit issue? (And didn’t we figure out there are are really only three types?) Don’t grassroots and for-profit actors differ on their objectives, not their “philosophy”? It appears that each of you will be talking about one type of farm or garden. I hope that, while you may focus on one example of each type, you will refer to the range of farms or gardens within that type and suggest how different ones within that type may differ from each other.
