My name is Jaclyn Tortora and I am from East Meadow on Long Island. I graduated from East Meadow High School and now I dorm on the Upper East Side in Manhattan to go to college here at Baruch. My great-great grandparents came to America from Italy but the only role that plays in my house now is great sauce and meatballs, and seven fish on Christmas. I am enjoying immersing myself in different cultures and experiences that the city has to offer. I cannot wait until it gets warm outside again so that I don’t freeze while I explore! I just learned how to knit and I am looking forward to sitting and knitting in the only nice part of Central Park that is in all of the movies. I also enjoy going to concerts in Central Park and in the city in general. I am looking forward to learning about the peopling of New York City in this class.
