Hi everyone! My name is Ariel Yuan and I am actually named after The Little Mermaid.

I was born in Queens, New York; however, my family (my parents, my older sister, and my younger brother) moved to suburbs of Poughkeepsie when I was around 7 years old. For those who have never heard of Poughkeepsie, it is a small town in the Hudson Valley located between New York City and Albany. In Poughkeepsie, I graduated from from Spackenkill High School. Spackenkill is such a small school that my graduating class only had like 120 students! Growing up in a small town had its positives but I am super excited to attend college in Manhattan and live in the 97th Street and 3rd Avenue dorms.

My intended major is business; however, I am still unsure. I am hoping to study marketing or management but I am also considering international business because I really enjoy traveling.

Like I just said, I love to travel and I have been lucky enough to travel to a couple different places. I visited states such as Florida and Massachusetts and other countries such as Canada, Taiwan, and my favorite, Spain. In spring 2012, I had the opportunity to travel to Spain with my school. Some cities we visited were Toledo, Segovia, Sevilla, Cordoba, Mijas, Granada, and Madrid. We danced the flamenco with gypsies, sat front row at a soccer game, attended processions for Holy Week, visited museums and cathedrals, and much more. In the future, I hope to travel more and study abroad. I would love to visit England, France, Italy, and Australia.

Besides traveling, some of my other hobbies include cooking, baking, reading, shopping, watching t.v. and movies, listening to music, spending time with family and friends, etc.
