Where to begin?

For someone who is constantly talking, interjecting, interrupting, commenting, praising and criticizing, I am ironically at a loss for words. Where to begin when introducing yourself? How, through the use of images, sound clips and words, can I portray who I am to those who have yet to meet me? Should I start with my love for Mumford and Sons and attach my Favorite Song which never fails to make me cry. Or should I properly introduce myself with, “hello my name is Rebecca Drabczyk..” and just let the words flow from there? Would it be a good idea to introduce my best friends in the entire word? To describe how the seven of us girls were inseparable in high school despite the fact we fought like sisters almost every day.

Me and my six best friends on senior day

Maybe I should start with how I broke my foot walking the summer before my freshman year of high school, or how I may possibly be a shopaholic (albeit one who returns 80% of what she buys). There are so many places to start, so many things to say; the possibilities are endless, yet I still find myself stuck looking for that catchy opening phrase. For lack of a unique opening, I shall begin with And the World Turned by The Gabe Dixon Band because music is essential to knowing who a person truly is. Then I will proceed to relay a few (hopefully painless and interesting) facts about myself.

      • Since I was three years old I lived on a busy dead-end block in Staten island with my mom, dad, and three lovely sisters
      • My younger sister by 13 months, Rachel, is my best friend and was my roommate for 18 years

      • I LOVE little kids, especially babies. I am a self appointed baby whisperer
      • My worst fear is bugs, although the thought of being alone for the rest of my life is a close second
      • I love go-karting and beat my overly-confident dad in Orlando, claiming the number one spot.

      • I attended Staten Island Technical High School where I spent the best four years of my life
      • I participated in SING for four years; directing the production my senior year was bitter sweet because although my grade and I celebrated our first and only win, I missed performing
