We had earwigs in Florida, and, as if they weren't terrifying enough, there was this episode of Rod Serling's Night Gallery that left me in a state of panic for months. Highly recommended. See the summary and quotes below.

The Caterpillar
Episode Number: 77 Season Num: 2 First Aired: Wednesday March 1, 1972 Prod Code: 34322
This episode is based on the short story "Boomerang" by Oscar Cook. This story was first published in the Christine Campbell Thomson anthology Switch on the Light (1931). (edit)
"I took a look at the earwig that came out. I killed it, as a matter of fact – I squeezed it. It was a female, that earwig . . . and the female lays eggs." (edit)
Wait, why do we have to take peta out? Admittedly I don't know much about PETA but I saw the episode of "Pen and Teller's- Bullshit" that was pretty scathing. They talked about how the president has ties to radical animal activist that have firebombed and broken into animal labratories. Also there's this. http://www.marscandykills.com/ For those who don't feel like clicking (just click, it'll take two seconds) the website depicts the two M&M candymen (is that the proper name?) with fangs and stigmata; this of course not to mention the mouse laying in a pool of its own blood at the top of the page. All value judgements aside (like I said I don't really know that much about PETA, I'd like to if someone wants to tell me) this screams of antichrist and apocalyptic imagery to me. Just a thought.
A revitalization of the eco/peta terrorist era? I was un-aware that the era had ended, I thought the movement had simply been pushed under the radar for the sake of more sensational news. ELF is a rather fascinating organization and while there as accusations abound that PETA infact aids in the funding ELF it may be more politically correct to say eco/elf terrorist era.

ok ok! I'll take peta out of the equation.

its difficult not to demonize people who hurt animals. animals are so "innocent"
unless, of course, we're talking about this thing
its an earwig, and its the spawn of satan.
this guy talks a bit about him. http://seattlest.com/2007/05/07/happiest_kid_ever_to_find_two_spiders_li...

There's no need to bring PETA into this.
