  • Second Largest Immigrant Group in NYC
    • Over 250,000 Chinese foreign born in NYC.


  • Foreign Born compose 75% of the Chinese population in NYC.


  • Language most difficult challenge.
    • Almost 75% of Chinese immigrants are not English proficient
    • About 85% speak a language other than English at home


  • Many have low education skills, possessing not even a high school diploma.
    • 42% have not finished high school


  • Less than 50% contribute to the Labor force
    • However, those that do contribute to the labor force do so mostly in managerial and professional positions (49.3%)
