The man who made us an offer we couldn't refuse. Mario Puzo was born into an immigrant family in New York City in the Hell's Kitchen area. He has written for men's magazines, book reviews, stories, and articles in journals. His most popular work, however, was his novel, Godfather, a story about the roots of mafia, corruption, violence, and honour. The funny thing was, he had never met a gangster in his life before the book appeared. His personal favorite, and what he believes was his best work, was The Fortunate Pilgrim, a story about a mother and her struggle through difficult times in America and difficult cultural conflicts.
