Starting my park project! Horray!
the idea is…
central park on saturday
and then 465 10th ave on sunday-it is a rooftop park by day and at night there will be 320 flashing L.E.D.’s and a pulsating 28 foot lighting tower for 10 days starting Sept. 14th. After 10 days it goes back to being a parking lot.
I just thought it was cool how he uses the street as his canvas and chalk along with a view various items as his medium. The items and chalk drawings are angled and positioned cleverly to look like he’s actually living in his artwork.
The Ear to the Earth Festival brings together composers from around the globe in order to turn urban cacophony into musical beauty. Francisco López’s Trilogy of the Americas transforms varied sounds from around NYC into a sensory-deprivation experience complete with audience blindfolds, while Walter Branchi’s Ecstatic Static takes a softer approach by embracing silence. Reflecting upon environment as well as sound, Andrea Polli’sCloud Car creates its own climate. Meanwhile, panel discussions address culturally driven urban development, and guided “soundwalks” ask city dwellers to open their ears to everything we usually tune out.
Events include a free soundwalk of the West Village, Wed. Oct 15 6-7 pm
