From The Peopling of New York City

In these walking tours, Professor Napoli guided us through various areas in New York City and Brooklyn pertaining to our research and the information we learned in class. With his knowledge of these areas of Ellis Island, Little Italy, the Lower East Side, and Williamsburg, we were able to understand and appreciate the historical importance of the buildings, architecture and monuments that surrounded us.

As we walked, we took pictures and tried to imagine how these places might have appeared had we walked in them years ago. Prof. Napoli tried to paint word pictures in an effort to help us bring these areas to life in our heads. Watch what we saw!
