Georges Seurat at the MoMA
This was an interesting exhibit because it wasn’t a collection of his most famous paintings or even his complete paintings, but rather some of his research and studies for his most famous paintings. It was awesome to see Le Grande Jatte as just a landscape, before he had added any people. He had a lot of different pieces that were just a part of this famous painting. Some had a few people, some even had just a dog. This was interesting because it gave me a chance to see the work that went into such a painting, which gave me a different respect for the work. To be honest, this sort of painting doesn’t really interest me at all, but when i can view the entire process it gives me a core defined idea of what made it what it is.
