I stayed in bed for a very long time this morning just reading and thinking about my topic for the midterm. There is a lot of work to do! Anyways, then we went to the Abiko Curry restaurant near by and had a quick meal before going to the R16 BBoy Championship at the Olympic Park Stadium. We didn’t have tickets yet, so we had to try and go a little earlier. However, we got there at around 5:15pm and purchased standing tickets. They were 20,000 won to see the entire thing because the other seats were either sold out, or wayyyy too expensive. Plus, from what happened, the standing areas may have been better even though we stood for about 5 hours straight. I even had to tiptoe to see the actual stage, but there was a large screen that showed most of the battles. THEY WERE AMAZING! I like things that are aesthetically pleasing and challenging such as the aquarium, musicals, and of course dance! They made it seem so easy, but the battles were amazing. Korea’s Morning Owl won, with Japan’s Body Carnival in second place! Afterwards, Dok 2, Jay Park, and one other famous rapper performed. WHO KNEW JAY PARK WOULD BE THERE! He was a former member and leader of the male KPOP group 2PM.We were reaaaally close to the stage and my friend even managed to grab the tank that he threw. However, instead of just pulling it awayfrom the crazy Korean fan girls, she agreed to a rock paper scissor, and they said that her scissor wasn’t messed up, so they took it. She loves Jay Park, so it really sucked. Anyways, very tired now, and had some street food for dinner since it is the only place open this late! Going to bed, but check out the vids on my flickr. A plate of tempura with fried shrimp, fried mandu, fried octopus leg, fried yam, and fried stuffed pepper. IT WAS SO GOOOOOOD and only 2,500 won! She also gave us free soup, which was also delicious.
