Day#17 Cafe Arvo, Bukchon Hanok Village, Tea Time

Wow, it’s been 17 days already, which means 27 days left! It’s bittersweet because I will miss being here, but I don’t know if I will get over the homesickness. I just really miss people at home. Anyways, today started out late, since we were also out late yesterday from the 63 building. I had ramyun for brunch because I couldn’t wait any longer to eat haha. My friend got up around 12, so we left at around 1:30pm-ish to have something at Cafe Arvo. We both had Cafe Lattes and she ordered a bagel for herself. One thing I will not miss is how expensive certain foods like bagels and peanut butter are. We did some readings until ~3, headed back to the dorms to drop off our stuff and get our cameras, and then went to find the Bukchon Hanok Village.

The Bukchon Hanok village constituted of old traditional houses. When we arrived, there was a tourist info center for us to obtain a map and see the sitest that were stated. It was mostly walking around and wishing we were rich enough to live in those houses haha. It was pretty beautiful~! It was really hot and there were sudden spurts of rain, which made it somewhat difficult to take pictures and walk around. We made it to most of the sites, but by that time, it was already around 7pm! In between visiting the two sides of the village, we went into a small pizza place to have a snack. We ordered a small pizza that had basil, tomato, and cheese. It was actually very tasty and the crust was thin and crisp. After the Hanok village, we headed to Insadong, which was close by, to look for a top choice tea house.

We found it! It is called the Insadong Jeontongdawon. And we had Omijah Cha which was a cold summer tea that had watermelon and another fruit inside. This is a must visit place, because it is very tranquil and the treats were yummy. We had a honey cookie with our tea, which was covered in sesame. We sat that for a bit to drink our tea. We also wrote a small message, which we inserted under glass which covered the table. It was a really nice experience, and the tea was definitely worth the visit. We shortly visited the Jogye-sa temple, and I took a few pics, because the lights were pretty! We then went to Hongdae to look for some shops and spent a lot of time, but didn’t eat a real dinner. So once we got back to sinchon, it was already 11pm and everything was closed, so we went to GS25 and bought some quick stuff. I had instant Jajjangmyun >.> Tired, and need to study!
