Queens Botanical Garden

[display_podcast]

Beautiful gardens, a sweet smell of the natural perfume that nature omits, and a rainy day. These are the things that greeted me last Saturday as I walked through Queens Botanical Garden. It seems very odd that this garden is located on Main Street in Flushing, Queens. The serene peaceful air that rests inside is very different from the bustling streets right outside. As the cars speed by, life inside the garden continues to grow and show the beauty of the Earth.

Inside botanical gardens, there are many things to see. The greatest part about this was that everything was clearly labeled so you knew exactly what you were looking at. The inside of the garden is as colorful as a rainbow after a storm, despite the rainy weather this past weekend. There were so many different types of flowers, trees, and birds and bees that it was hard to just stay focused on one part of the garden. Besides plants, the garden also had pretty architecture such as a wedding arch where weddings do take place. However, my favorite part of the garden was the Fountain of Life. Its structure allows the fountain to capture rainwater from previous days and transform it into something beautiful. What’s also interesting about this garden is that every season there are new plants sprouting and new flowers blooming. The rain did not dampen my mood on Saturday; neither did it make Queens Botanical Garden any less lovely.

*I do not own any of these pictures, they are all taken off the internet.

Isn’t Queens Botanical Garden relatively disappointing though? I remember the first thing I thought of when I went there was, “Where are all the flowers?” Although, the few flowers that stood out certainly surprised me.

^Hahahah that’s mean. Even though I have never been there before, Angela you make it sound wonderful (still, probably not as wonderful as the BROOKLYN BOTANICAL GARDEN :D)
