Our experiment concluded that there is a link between ↓ in NO2 emissions & a ↓ in human mobility resulting from lockdown measures & stay at home orders, which can be linked to the ↓ usage of cars & other high-emission methods of personal transportation during these lockdown orders. In fact, after NYC Mayor DeBlasio encouraged the use of personal vehicles & discouraged the use of public transportation, the city noticed an ↑ in emissions, especially when compared to totals of emissions at the same time in 2019. Thus, we can conclude that there is a direct correlation between human activity & the intensity of emissions, & thus a transitive correlation between human activity & climate change, as these emissions are, in part, the cause of climatic shifts. We generated proposals from these conclusions. These include encouraging utilization of alternative modes of transportation & transitioning to cleaner energy sources.
