Does Basketball Material Affect Shooting Performance?
To what extent does the material of a basketball affect the success of a free-throw shot? This project seeks to find an answer to this.

We think this is interesting to study because when buying a basketball, they vary a lot in price. The price of the ball usually reflects the quality of material that the ball is made from. We want to analyze the importance of the material when using the basketball and we decided that a primary aspect to basketball would be the shooting. Because of this, we are focusing on how the material affects shooting performances with the use of different types of basketballs.
This was such an interesting topic for me to read about! It is something that I never thought about, as I assumed that all basketballs would be made out of the same material. Although your results did not show a significant effect, it is interesting to apply this concept to other sport equipment such as a volleyball, etc. You also made an interesting point about whether the quality of the basketball matters to new or experienced papers. This would be an interesting point to research more about.
