Theme: A Public University’s Role in an Age of Mass Incarceration of Communities of Color

What are the best strategies/who are our most potent allies in the disruption of the institutionalized “primary school to prison” pipeline in which so many boys/young men of color seem to be trapped?
In what ways can public institutions of higher education – such as CUNY – better respond to this growing problem?
How can matriculated college students (Macaulay & CUNY, in particular) more successfully partner with educators, administrators and community activists to reach out to and work with families and younger students in at-risk communities?
