Join the Macaulay Diversity Initiative for an evening conference focusing on your personal and professional well-being. The conference consists of a Macaulay alum panel, followed by workshops that go deeper into ways to prioritize and practice wellness throughout your personal and professional lives. The annual conference aims to open up a dialogue on diversity, equity, and inclusion and how to advocate for your wellness through discussions and activities.

Speakers:

Erika Russi ’08, (Baruch) Macaulay Alum

Erika is a Macaulay Alumna, Baruch Class of ’08. She graduated with a degree in Accounting and a Masters in Taxation. In 2018-19, she attended a Data Science Bootcamp and has been a Data Scientist at IBM since 2019.

 

 

Workshops:

Wellness Workshop

The Macaulay Mental Health and Wellness Center provides multiculturally sensitive counseling within a nonjudgmental, objective, safe space so that students from all walks of life can openly discuss their concerns. This workshop will focus on coping with the stressors of things like impostor syndrome and microaggressions in the workplace.

Macaulay Honors College is committed to creating a welcoming, healthy, and safe learning environment. Open to CUNY Students, Faculty and Staff!

Restorative Justice Practices Workshop

Macaulay’s Restorative Justice Program Coordinator, Jayla J. Allen will host a workshop that focuses on giving the Macaulay community the space to learn and grow together. By teaching and practicing restorative justice, we create spaces where strong relationships can form.

Jayla is a committed advocate, activist, and organizer. She brings a wealth of expertise in designing and implementing programs for young adults, and has a deep background in providing academic, social, and emotional support to students.

Student Lounge Volunteer Session

Join this session to connect with our Student Lounge Volunteers. Learn about the community they have built, the resources they provide to students, and enjoy the experience of connectedness with fellow students.

 

 

Peace Action Workshop: Avoiding Burnout in Activism

Join the Macaulay Honors College chapter of Peace Action New York State, the largest peace advocacy group in the United States. They aim to expand Peace Action’s vision and mission to the Macaulay Honors College and CUNY. They seek to mobilize, connect, and organize students, faculty, alums, and community activists. Join this workshop and discussion centered around burnout and the challenges of working in activist and academic settings, and learn about tips and practices for success!
